Was running from an old factory, in which they apprehended live men and seized a million dollars worth

of pure Canadian whisky. This included five hundred barrels each

containing up to sixty gallons, and a hundred cartons of three demejohns each. The whole was labelled

with the name of a well-known ice-

cieam manufacturer. The Federal officers have called upon the City Police Chief to show' cause why he allowed the construction of a pipe line. The police deny knowledge of it.
