The report to be submitted to the annual meeting of the Stratford Athletic Club on Friday night states that owing to the formation of an amateur club in Stratford, and its decision 4o conduct a Taranaki championship meeting on March 1930, the committee decided to defer the club’s annual sports. The response Avas most gratifying. Further information obtained relating t 0 New Zealand championship meetings revealed that it Avould he incumbent on the club to hold a twoday sports meeting. As the question of half-holiday Avas a difficult one and the expense of a championship meeting was heavy, the committee reluctantly decided to Avith- | draAV its application.
