WORLD TELEPHONE SERVICE. (British Official Wireless.') UUGBY, October 12. The Postmaster-Genera!, at Birmingham last night, said the Post Offke had a lara;e part to play in future in Imperial questions.' A direct service to Canada would be opened within a few months. There had been secured for Britain a central position in tTie world's system of long-distance telephone services, enabling British subscribers to communicate by conversation with 00 per cent, of all telephone subscribers anywhere on the earth.
