LP The Stratford Amateur Athletic Club- 1231-50 2 THE ANNUAL, REPORTTlie report to be presented at tonight’s annual mooting of the htratford Amateur Athletic Club states that, cbnsidering it teas the first year of its existence, the club had progressed very creditably, having enrolled 38 financial members, and the balance-sheet showing a credit balance of :C-5 7s 7dDuring the season four evening meetings, the daranaki championships and one meeting in conjunction with the Park Day Carnival Committee were held, the report continued. The outstanding event o'f the season was the Taranaki championships hold on March 27, members ' of. the club heading the list with 68-1- points. The line performances of Cl .E- Irving and tiic Cilbver Bros- were worthy of note, the former in reducing the time previously hold by the Taranaki champion. S. A. Black, by 3 3-osec in the 440 yards, and the latter in coming equal with another competitor in the high jump .each clearing -s\t /Tin. and beating the previous reei/rd by 1’- inches- Owiftg to the lateness of the year, and the little interest displayed by general public financially, the meeting was not as successful as anticipated. The club was well represented at the Taranaki-,Wanganui centre championships held at Hawera on March ]. F .Gilliver being conspicuous by establishing a new centre in the high jump- Stratford representative's had 22 points to their credit at the end of the day. Messrs. J. Hamilton, G- K. loqng, F- Gilliver, and A. D. Acllam were to he congratulated in their inclusion among the Taranaki-Wanganni centre representatives at tho New Zealand championships. Two successful dances were hold credit being duo to the ladies and tho officials who so ably conducted them-

The committee wishes particularly to express its appreciation and thanks to Mr. L- B. Davis ior his willing assistance to and treatment of the club. Tliauks are also* tendered to Messrs. D- J. Malone. L* J. Furrie, H. T. Cooper and J. letrie for the donation of cups, and those who assisted with the training and acted as officials, especially those from outside clubs
