IHEW ZEALAND Prior to leaving for Great Britain a few weeks ago, Dr. E. Marsden, secretary to the department of Scientific and Industrial Be search, speaking of the industries of New Zealand, said:— “New Zealand manufacturers, generally, are realising that advan'ces can be made by the exercise of enterprise, boldness, and intelligence, and by the utilisation of all available scientific and technical services. They n'eed the help of the public, who should appreciate the fact that New Zealand manufacturing concarns that can find steady markets foj’ their products are vital assets in the national economy and effective safeguards ( against unemployment. “The larger the volume of output the greater the efficiency, and the lower, in general, the cost of production and the selling price, “By purchasing more New Zealandmade goods they will help t Q minimise unemployment and assist in reducing prices.”
