"Head of the River"

It was announced yesterday that the Sydney High School, the winners of the last head of the river race wer e to have the title taken from them. Sydney Grammar School has also been disqualified in spit e of the fact that the school did not have a crew in the finals. The action is said to have followed a secret report by a committee of public school masters cm alleged irregularities in the schools’ training methods. Thei title of head of the river goes to St. Joseph’s College. This dec’sion, however, is to be reviewed next week, now that the Sydney High School has announced its retirement from the great public school sports activities until the good mane of the famous school is cleared.
