NURSE SUCCEEDS IN SLANDER ACTION.
CASE AGAINST LANDLADY. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Ella Miller, registered nurse, was to-day awarded L 75 damages when Mr E. Page, S.M., gave reserved judgment in a libel action against Mi's E. Williams, apartment-house keeper. The nurse’s action was based upon remarks made by Mrs Williams on a telephone when she said to the secretary of the Nurses’ Club that Nu rse Miller “had a, man in, her room until four o’clock in, the morning.” The magistrate held that qualified privilege could not be sustained in tiie circumstances.
