LABOUR PARTY’S ATTITUDE

SOME TAX PROPOSALS ARE VIEWED WITH FAVOUR WILL NOT DEFEAT GOVERNMENT TO AID REFORM When the debate on the Budget was resumed in the -House of Representatives yesterday, the views of the J<a ha:\v Party were aired by Mr 11. E. Holland. He said there were smite phases with which his party agreed, and others with which they disagreed. There were also mo ■■ points in the Opposition amendment with which Labour was in iavonr, but his party could not support the amendment. The Labour Party, be said, would vote the United Government out of office on the first opportunity, but not at the expense of returning the Reform Party to office. A spirited defence of the Budget proposals was made by the Hon. W. A. Veitch, who also dealt with matters affecting the railways.
