MOTOR CYCLING.
GRASS AND ROAD TRIALS. There were comparatively few spectators at Sangster’s Hill yesterday. when members of the Stratford Motor Cycle Club held road and grass hill-climbing contests. The afternoon was quite free of spills or mihaps. Officials who controlled the tests were: Messrs T. Kirkwood, starter; W. Power, time-keeper; W. McKay, P. Bodle, R. A. Sargent and H. Botcher, stewards. Following are results of the contests held;— Road Climbing. Trade Class—F. Crockett, 32sec. 1; R. Penniall, 32 l-Ssec, 2; J. Crockett, 32 2-ssec, 3. Amateur Class. —V. Baldock, 34sec, 1; T. Walmsley, 35sec, 2; H. Walmsley, 35 l-ssec, 3. Grass Climbing. Trade Class.—R. Penniall, 7 2-5 sec, 1; L. EL Wanu, S l-ssec, 2. Other competitors in this class failed to complete the course. Amateur Class. —H. Walmsley, 8 l-ssec, 1; G. Reid, S 2-ssec, 2; T. Walmsley, 9 sec, 3.
