The second clay of the Wellington Racing Club's winter meeting was held in showery, cold weather, and the track was soft and slow. There avus a good attendance. Ihe totalisator put through £118,572 as against £41,086 on the second day last year. Late .results: — v High-weight Handicap, one mile and three furlongs.—2 Mount Shannon 1. 3 Courageous 2, 5 Fine Acre 3. Also started; Luminary, Garinthia, Prince Lu, The Sum, Troilus. Won by three lengths; third horse two length away. The Sun was fourth. Time 2min 36sec. Members’ Handicap.—B Staghuntei 1,2 Havering 3, 1 Hopwood 3. Also smarted: Paleta, Royal Duke, Rational, P'aiko, Lady’s Boy > Chopin, Bernera, Marble King, Kilmezzo, Rascal. Won by half a head; a neck between second and third. Paiko was fourth. Time Imin AT l-4sec. Petone Hack Handicap.—l Portray 1, 5 Abbey Queen 2, 9 Killigrew 3. Also started; Ex Dono, Hurly Burly Glenrossie, Bonacre, Etehi Raugi, White Doe.
