SECOND RUGBY TEST
ALLOCATION OF SEATS QUOTA QUITE INADEQUATE. PROTEST FROM HAWKE’S BAY. NAPIER, July 4. The allocation of only 450 seats for residents outside of Wellington for the Fouorth Rugby Test was described by Mr J. W. Norrie, chairman of the Hawke ’ s Bay Union, this evening as outrageous. Mr Norrie added that the allocation was not at. all in keeping with the arrangements previously made. To allocate only 450 seats out of 4000 to five country districts, which included Hawke’s Bay, Wanganui, Manawhenua, Bush and Wairarapa, wa g absurd. Hawke’s Bay treated the sub-unions on a totally different foot* ing, having allocated U outside districts 1000 seats of the 2800 available for one match to be played in Hawke’s Bay. "We have 100 seats booked already for the Test,” Mr Norrie added, “and if the present allocation is maintained we are going to be badly left. The whole thing is absurd.”' Mr Nome’s action was endorsed m forwarding the following telegram to the New Zealand Union; “At the annual meeting at Wellington it Was arranged to make an allotment to each country union. This union has already booked approximately 100 seats and will guarantee payment.”
