The game between Stratford and Celtic firfet juniors on Victoria Park was fast and interestiug. With a strong' southerly breeze in their favour in the. first spell, Celtic kept play in Stratford territory for the best part of Hie spell, Stratford getting to the Celtic end on very few occasion's. CHric did not fully reap the benefit >£ .this territorial advantage. Their for-

ended with the score: Celtic (J P Stratford 5. Th 6 tables were turned in the j«~6nd half. The Stratford for-
wards were superior in the loose, and the backs Avere enabled to open up play. Lehmanu scored twice, one try being converted by P. Collins. Then I). Collins scored from u me out in the C3ltic 25, P Collins again converting. Stratford's final score was made by Blackmore, D. Collins converting. Mielson' and Celtic'we shrdlu cvmfwypaoln made Celtic's final score. He followed up from a punt and secured the ball again from the resulting scramble. Th e final, score thus was: Stratford 23, Celtic 9. Mr J. Carlson refereed. MIDHIUST v. TABIKI. It was a hard, |solid game at Midhirst,, when Midhirst -beats Tariki by 8 to nil. Midhirst won the toss and played with the wind and the slope of the ground in their favour, and they kept play in Tariki territory, but were unable to cross the line. Withia ten minutes of the start Boniface kicked a penalty goal for
Midhirst, but the rest of the spell waa without noteworthy incident. Just before half-time TariKi had a short period of. attack, but no scor< resulted.
The wind died down in the second spell, and Tariki were again on the defensive fo r the best part of The Spell. Back play was noticeable by its absence, arid speculator kicks were much in evidence. Towards the end of the game Bottirt, who had played well throughout the day came through the scrum with the ball at toe, dribbled over the line and scored. W. Adlam converting. Midhirst's full hack, S. Adlam, played a good game, saving his side time after time. Mr W. J. Aitken referred.
