A very bright meteorite, which lit up the land on hoth sides of Coolt Strait, Yitts seen from the steamer Matangi, crossing from Wellington to Nelson, at 10.15 o'clock on Wednesday night. Th e meteorite had a north t 0 south trajectory, >j a north-wejst-west direction from the position of the ship. The chief portion of the meteor was a large blue light which had a scattered shower of reddish fragments followiiig iii the form of a. tail.
