TAXES ON FOREIGN FOODS DOMINANT BRITISH FEELING LONDON, June 23. Lord Rothermere lias written Lord Beaverbrook an important letter declaring that as a result of careful inquiries all over the country, he has now j)ersuaded himself' that taxes on foreign foodstuffs are not only economically desirable,, but elcctorally possible. Inquiries have shown that Empire free trade has overwhelming support. Lord Rotherniero writes: "As I believe that yours is the only policy that can save Britain from threatening disaster, I hail you as the only man who has the courage, energy and vision to give the country a great constructive lead and I unreservedly pledge the support of the United Empire Party, of which I am the founder."
