SCHOOL TEACHERS
RE3HTS FOR COMEItESCE Airs Ruff, Misses Allen, Bayly, Burgess and Papps svill represent the Taranaki AVomen Teachers' Association at the annual conference at Wellington in May, and will present the following remits:— That the handwork materials supplied to infant departments and lower standards classes are quite inadequate to meet the demands of modern teaching.
That those teachers who through lack of correct information failed to join the superannuation fund °n en_ tering the profession should be allowed to do so on payment of compound interest. That beginners in the infant department be admitted to school only during the first week of each term, and that provision be made so that a child whose birthday occurs in mid-term may be admitted, if desired, at the beginning of such term. That a strong protest be made against any proposal to discriminate between single and married women in the matter of appointments.
