THE PRIME MINISTER

RUT(JR?; TO ROTORUA j HEALTH MUCH IMPROVED. WELLINGTON, March 6. Acting on the advice of his Cabinet colleagues the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward) has decided to return to Rotorua to obtain further treatment.

Sir Joseph will probably leave for the thermal centres over the week-end. Current rumours that Sir Joseph Ward is resigning were denied yesterday. “No such change is contemplated,” was the answer given by an official in intimate touch with the Prime Minister. The following statement was, on the authority of the Prime Minister, also issued: “The Prime Minister presided over the Cabinet meeting at Wellington on Tuesday last and great pleasure was expressed by all the Ministers present at the very evident benefit to his health which had resulted from the special treatment received at Rotorua. Sir Joseph Ward acknowledged the very cordial greetings of his colleagues and commented upon the good work accomplished by Ministers during his absence from the capital. At the conclusion of a three hours* meeting the Ministers unanimously requested that the Prime Minister should return to Rotorua for at least another month. The benefit to Sir Joseph’s health was so marked that they were all earnestly desirous of seeing him obtain the fullest advantage from further treatment. The Prime Minister said he was really feeling much better and, in the hope of a larger measure of benefit to bis health, he would probably return to Rotorua at an early date.’*
