Mr R. A. Steers left to-day on return to his home at Auckland, after a visit to his daughter, Mrs ;F. Jackson.
Mr. A. ,i. Hansen was yesterday re-elected president of the Taranaki centre of the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union. Messrs. T. Kirkwood and J. Shottor were elected v ice-presidei 1 ts.
The many frieods of the Rev. H. L. Blamires will be pleased to learn that h e is a good deal better in health, and hopes to be able to resume his duties on Sunday, Decera- | mer 15th. The Rev. J. Boothroyd, [who has been supplying for the last three months, will preach his farewell sermons on Sunday next at .Stratford morning and evening, and ,-at Stanley Road in the afternoon.
The annual meeting of the Tarianaki centre of the New Zealand Ath'let)ie land Cyfciling Union passed a vote of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. D. McKay, a previous president of the centre, who died at Springfield during the past year. The president (Mr. A. J. Hanson) said the late Mr. McKay was one of the finest sports and a great athlete in, his day.
