CASH ORDER TRADING REPORT GOES TO COMMITTEE WELLINGTON, Oct. 3. The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. to-day. On the motion of the Hon. .1. G. Cobbc it was decided that the report on the cash order trading system be referred t" the Industries and Commerce Committee for consideration and report, the committee to consider especially whether the recommendations that the system should be controlled by legislation should be adopted, and if : so, generally to report on the proposals as to the form such legislation should take. Replying to Mr W. A. Nash, the Hon. T. W. Wilford stated that a Police Amendment Bill had been drafted but had not yet been considered by Cabinet. After it had been considered by Cabinet lie would be in a position to announce whether it would be introduced this session. Mr W. Parry asked whether the men who took part in clearing and breaking in land would be given preference, in the event of their desiring to become settlers. The Hon. G. Forbes stated that the matter had not been overlooked. He suggested that Mi- Parry should bring up” the subject during the committee stage of tlio Land Laws Amendment Bill.
