A Painful Accident. Mr M. Kovaleski met with a painful accident yesterday, losing the first joint of the little finger on his right hauid while engaged in pulling a wheel off a vehicle. Purchase of Dairy Stock. One of the most prominent buyer s at the Stratford Jersey Club’s bull sale yesterday was the representative of a large Gisborne dairy coinmany. He purchased a large mumper of yearling bulls with which he hopes to improve the Gisborne strains and infuse new blood into the East Coast herds. To-night’s Hectare. An instructive time is promised those who attend the Town Hall tonight, when Dr. W. Gordon will give a lecture on his experiences during his recent trip abroad. Dr. Gordon is a good speaker anjd can be relied on to make hi s remarks interesting. Miniature RHles. Though there was not a very large attendance at the Miniature Rifle Club shoot last night, the shooting was of a high standard, and there were several possibles scored. The match which was to hove been held did not eventuate, owing to the club not being able to procure the necessary target rifles. Road Signing 1 . “The road-signing branch of the Association’s work is still being carried out,” says the annual report of the Stratford branch of the South Taranaki Automobile Association, and during the year a great deal of time and money has been s pent on. this very necessary work. There is still a iot of roads in our territory that require attending to, and it is the intention to place direction signs to all roads during the coming year. As was mentioned in our last annual report, the committee would, be pleased if an,y member would bring to their notice any dangerous bend or road sign they considered should be erected in their district.”
