The manager of the Hauraki Mines Consolidated, Ltd., reports as follows: “In the slopes on the Stockwood yeef at the 400 ft. level, the reef is bung broken down and a few pounds of specimen stone have been select ' ed from near the point where the 1. ;: gold as got. The general ore from here is shaping fairly well at the battery, rising at this point is under way, and sloping in both directions is in progress. Mining operations at present are confined, to sloping and rising in this block, the end slopes are levelled up, the ventilation i s satisfactory, so good progress should be made with winning ore and proving the value gohug up. All the machinery at the mine and battery is running smoothly and doi iug all required ol it.”
