Sea Comet is doing good work on the tracks at Ellerslie. The Stratford-owned Potency beat a good lot of hacks in the Flaxmore Handicap at Hastings last Saturday and returned a good price. Trainer Wade has Potency lookingvery well and expects him to run well. ■ Two maidens in f King Acre and Tea Taster had been doing work on the tracks at Awapuni and their prominent showing in the Trial Stakes at Hastings last Saturday was expected. King Acre is a big gelding by Acre, and it was his first start this season. Lineage, winner of the Avondale j Stakes, is one of those engaged in j the AVelcome Stakes at the Auckland i.
