NOTHING LIKELY THIS SESSION, TEACIIEES ’ SALARIES. AUCKLAND, Sept. 5. The opinion that; there would be no education reform proposals introduced ■into Parliament this session was voiced by Mr F. A. Garry at the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute. Mr Garry, who was one of the Auckland, delegates at the meeting of , the executive of flic New'Zealand Institute in Wellington on August gave details .of the executive’s recommendations to the Director of Education regarding the proposed new salary scale for teachers. The Director had promised that, he would consider the position. “There are very definite indications in Wellington that nothing will be accomplished educationally in the session this year” said Mr Garry. “It is considered that everything will bo referred to an investigating committee during the recess There are indications that some,move will be made next session, but the new salary proposals are not regarded as pressing.”
