TROUT PROBLEMS.

That all acclimatisation societies in New Zealand co-operate in research work on the problems affecting the well being of trout in New Zealand rivers and lakes was the effect of a series of remits approved at a general meeting of members of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. The proposals are that a central research committee be formed to direct the research work, such committee to be answerable to the New Zealand Association of Societies, such committee to report on the work t Q the association once a year and a copy of such report to he forwarded to all, affiliated societies. The committee will consist of two South Island members, two North Island members, Professor Perclval and the Chief Inspector of Fisheries. All the societies will make an annual cash contribution towards the work, the amount of such contribution to be proportionate to the gross annual incomes of such societies.
