FIRST TRAIN RUNS INTO CENTRAL AUSTRALIA

ADELAIDE, August 9. ' The running of the. first passeng'er and goods train into Central Australia, terminating at Alice Springs yesterday, makes an important step in the development of the great unknown portion of Australia. The Government resident officer, Mr C. A. Wood, made the statement that vast mineral wealth was hidden in the ranges in the vicinity of the railhead.
