"Prom the point of view of the primary industries of the country," said Mr Truby King at the annual meeting of shareholders of Messrs Newton King, Ltd., yesterday, "the season just ended has been excellent in every phase of rural activity, very favourable climatic conditions having synchronised with good markets and remunerative prices. This has been of great assistance to this company, as to other companies engaged in a similar class of business. The directors realise, however, that too much dependence cannot be placed on a continuation of such favourable conditions. The seasons and the markets are beyond our control and, as a consequence, as you were informed in my last address, the directors' policy has been shaped towards the end of putting the affairs of the company on a sound basiis and generally endeavouring to strengthen and consolidate its position."
