CHINESE TIGHTEN GRIP
, ON EASTERN RAILWAY SOVIET PROPAGANDA. MONGOLIAN REBELLION EXPECTED. (Received 9.35 a.m.) SHANGHAI, July 28. Despite the signs of some form of negotiations between China and Russia,, the Chinese are steadily tightening their grip on the Chinese Eastern railway. Nanking lias received urgent despatches from Kalgau TJrga disclosing the Soviet subversive activities, in outer Mongolia, where a Mongolian rebellion is expected at any moment. Nanking announces that additional troops are not necessary in the north, present forces of two hundred thousand being considered adequate protection \from the border. —Australian P.A.
