A fire at four o’clock this morning destroyed a. six-roomed house on Mountain Road, Eltham, owned by Miss O- Morris, of New Neymouth, land occupied by Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Powell. The latter ere awakaned by .smoke, and found the building ablaze. jPart of the furniture was removed yesterday in view of Mr, and Mrs. Powell’s departure from JfMttham. The balance, including a dental outfit, was destroyed. The fire brigade did good work, but .the building was gutted. Some firemen were gassed a result of the explosion of a gas cylinder, but later recovered. /The insurances are: House furniture £.300, dental equipment £9OO. Both in the South British office, and personal belongings £2OO in the Alliance office. The insurances on the house are not available.
