Mr and Mrs B. Webber, Avho have been on a motor trip to Auckland, returned home on Wednesday. Mr and Mrs C. Smith left by car this morning on a holiday trip to Mafcterton. Mr. J. R. Cade, of the Wanganui Public Works office, is at present on a visit to the Stratford office 04 official business. Mr. S. Dean, chairman of the New Zealand Bugby Union, was operated on by an eminent surgeon in Sydney ou Tuesday. His condition is satisfactory but he will be unable to see tho All Blacks untill the weekend. After having held tho position or secretary of the Taranaki Jockey Club.lor twenty-one years, Mr. E. P. Webster has decided to relinquish the position. This announcement, nade by Mr-. L. A. Nolan (president) at the annual meeting of the club last night, was heard with regret by all members present, regret that will be shared by racing men throughout Taranaki and, indeed, the Dominion. For his ability, unfailing tact arid oolvftesy 'to all Mr. Webster bap earned general esteem.
