Quito the. latest form of crime, coming (naturally) from Chicago, ha* been revealed by the arrest of 56 parents on a charge of being la« in regard' to the discipline of their children. Twenty-two of them were lined, and two who refused to pay were isent to prison. The arrests 'were ordered by the Superintendent of Education following revelations of drunken orgies by 'Grammar and High School girls and boys at the inquest in a young man who was killed in a motor smash after an all-night) party of dancing and drinking with schoolgirls. The jury consisted of eminent university professors, sociologists and psychologists who were summoned as much to inquire into the- morals of the young as to hold the inquest. Schoolgirls aged 15, 16 and Yl candidly described their "booze parties,'' and suggested that young men, ■ were only interested in girls when the latter provided a bottle. Virginia Graf, aged 19, said: "Aw, gee! if a girl doesn't drink she isn't wanted at parties nowadays. They think she's foolish and old-fashioned, and never ask her again." Another girl said: "I carry my own latchkey and niy parents don't know when I get in."
