STRATFORD WINTER SHOW.
Apart from valuable specials and cash prizes to be awarded in the poultry section at the Stratford Winter Show, which opens on July 10, attention may be drawn to special prizes in other sections which come within the province of householders to place exhibits. In the farm and gardening section, there is no lack of variety for exhibits, and the special prizes attached thereto include trophies valued, at 21s and 10s 6d for most points in this section; also, the Taranaki Stock Auctioneers’ Association Cup valued at twelve guineas for most points in mangolds, swedes, and field roots, cup valued at three guineas for collection of carrots, cup valued three guineas for best truss ensilage, Association shield valued at ten guineas for district farm produce competition, cups valued two guineas each for most points for mangolds, most points in swedes, and most points in field roots, In the borne industries section, trophies valued at three guineas will be awarded for most points in the first twenty-seven classes. The second prize trophy is valued at one
guinea. The section for amateur. photographers includes a points prize valued at a guinea. Boy Scouts should be interested in their section in which the Hillock Ambulance Cup will be competed for on Saturday, July 13th. A team of four boys deal with an accident case, the conditions of which are given in the schedule.-The Cup, which is to be won three successive times to become the property of the troop, is at present held by Y.M.C.A., Wanganui. A silver medal will be presented by the Association to each member of, the
winning troop. Entries close on Saturday next at 9 pm. with the Hon. Secretary, Mr F T Hale, P.O. Box 58, Stratford.
