Electrial Storm' A severe electrical storm passed over Stratford at about 6 o'clock this morning. Convicted and Discharged. At the Stratford Court today before Mr G. E. Wilson, J.P., a first offending drunkard was convicted and discharged A New (Boiler. The Lowgarth Dairy Factory closed down on June Ist for the purpose of having a new boiler installed, and will not re-open till the end of July. Hens Laying Well During the month ended on June 25th s the Stratford 'Egg Cii-cfle dealt with 1925 dozen eggs. 60 dozen more than for the conesponding month of last year. False Pretences. At the New Plymouth Court yesterday, Sylvia Donaldson, a young woman, pleaded guilty when charged with false pretences in that, representing herself as the, "wife of Mr Oliver, who works in the post office," she had on December 21 obtained a hat from the "Hat Box" shop and on December 18 obtained a pair of shoes from George and Doughty She could •not he located until March 15, when a constable interviewed her, said Detective Meiklejohn. Then she disappeared again and it was only a few days ago that she was found in Stratford. After the constable had interviewed her the first time she had gone straight .to the shop and paid for the hat, but the shoes were still unpaid for. Having nothing to say, Donaldson was convicted on both charges and ordered to come up for sentence in six months if called upon. She was told to pay George amd ' Doughty £1 9s 6d, the value of the shoes.
