MIDHIRST Mr and Miss Symes, of Te Ka--vvhata, are the guests of Mrs Paul, York ißoad. Mrs L. Vickers is at present staying with Mrs D. Smith, York Road. Mr and Mrs Laird are away on holiday in Auckland. Mr and Mrs Kerisk, of Hamilton, have been visiting Mr and Mrs.Kerisk, Senr., of Wharehuia. 1 PLUffKET DANCE. Though the weather was very bad the Plunket dance, held last Wednesday night, was a decided success and was fairly well attended. Several novelty dances were on the programme, and the Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr Lobb and Miss Boniface. Mr Annersley and partner won the spot waltz. Music was supplied by the "Melody Four," and Messrs Lobb and Schriffer acted as M.C.'s. The ladies of the district provided the supper, which was a very high class one. The euchre party, held last night, resulted as follows: Ladies' prize, Mrs W. Mason; men's, Mr A. Thompson. The booby prizes fell to Mr T. Cpokson and Mrs L. Vickers. The storm on Wednesday night did not do any severe damage, though fences suffered severely and in one or two cases chimneys and verandahs were reported damaged.
