Kcbbell Shield. Word has Ijccii received that the local company of Territorials have won the Ke.bbeU Shield, awarded to the best shooting company in the Central Command. Sign Posts on Mountain. Several sign posts have been erected in the vicinity of the Stratford Mountain House during the last few days by Mr Frank Addis of Stratford. Howera Band at Ngtiere. A crowd of between 500 and 600 people attended Ngaere Gardens yesterday to hear the Hawexa Citizens Band. The programme provided was an excellent one, most of the items being of the classical variety. Instruction Coursse. Officers and N.C.O's of D. There were many visitors to tlio Stratford Mountain House yesterday and several reached the summit. These included Messrs Insull, Cor. lesse, and Ganaway of New Plymouth, Mr Max Geruhoefetr, and Mr and Mrs Gemhoefer and Mrs Byron and party of Stratford; Messrs Thomas, Cave, Johnson and Schweiters of Mahoe. The youngest mortal to b© taken np the mountain was taken to the Curtis Hut (4,400 feet) yesterday : \\v Miss Moltfe Haldamu. This was Peter Mack ay of Inglewood a four month old baby. Thomson mentioned! a case m which a summons had been posted on March sth, but no return of service had been made, although such letters were, required to be. returned in ten days if not elajrmed.
