The contractor is making good progress with the metalling of the North and South Douglas Roads. A half coat of metal has been placed on 87 chains of the former and 1 1-4 miles of the latter, A start is being made with the second coat, which will ho carried out from the northern end of tpo contracts till the pit is reached. A considerable amount of the formation on the Douglas North Hoad has.been re-graded and widened.—Engineer’s report.
