The Eddisbury by-election foil owing the death cf Major Sir H. Barnston resulted: R. Russell (Liberal) 3 0,223. Colonel Fenwick Palmer (Conservative) 8931. At the previous election Major Bamston (Conservative) had a majority of 1669.
