ATTEMPT MADE TO BURN HALL
INCENDIARISM FEARED. SUSPICIOUS FIRES AT [THAMES. THAMES, Last Night. What is feared to bo a case of incendiarism occurred wlie.U an attempt was apparently made, to bum the Central Hall at Thames. It was discovered last, night that a ft re had been lit under the. building at the back, but had burnt out after charring a number of boards.
The brigade has been turned, out i>'°* queutly recently to fires of suspicions origin and hist night was called out to an, empty house in Hope Hoad', winch had apparently heen set alight. The brigade saved the house, hut two firemen wore temporarily overcome by the douse smoke.
This morning the brigade was called out to yet another fire, tin’s time in a garage, in Beach Hoad, which was subdued easily This is the sixth fire this month. The police are invest.gat. ing the matter
