THE LEYLAND TERRIER.
The 3 ax'lo "Terrier" as the new Loyland lorry is called is designed for 1 hauling hfeavy loads over) soft boggy land, and to travel over country where there are no roads. 'the provision of three axles and/ ten pneumatic tyres to the lorry gives a very large ground contact area, and the 1 machine, has been designed entirely in accordance with War Office specifications for cross-country work. For hauling solid loads out of riverbeds an<l/ gravel-pits, and over soft ground which would* normally have to b e laid with temporary wooden roads, tho "Terrier" will be found of great Bervice by public bodies, constructional and building trades, and carriers generally.
The engine developes 80 h.p., and has n total drawbar pull of over 9,000 lb. This enormous tractive power enables the machines to climb a gradient qf 1 in 2, and to do jobs impossible with ordinary lorries.
