At Hawera on Saturday Taranaki beat Wanganui in a contest for the Christie Cup by fourteen matches to ten and 33 sets t 0 26. In the men's singles Berg lost his game; in the ladies' singles Mrs Berg and Miss Nutting had wins. Berg and McGregor w«n in the men's doubles; Mrs Berg and Miss Nutting won'in the ladies' doubles; and in the * combined doubles wins were recorded by Strombom and Miss Nutting and Berg and Mrs Berg.
