Thievos durinu: tho week cud entered tho home at North Melbourne of Mr P. Sullivan, n cartage contractor, i'or a number of timber linns, and stole money and jewellery to the value of over £SOO. They then set fire to tho house which was practically destroyed. Simultaneously fires occurred in timber stacks i» the railway yards i" tho same neighbourhood. A night watchman fired three shots at a loiterer who escaped.—Australian P. A.
