On Saturday evening, a. single man, Alfredl Death. (6f1.) was struck by a slow train near Takapau station. He was picked up in a serious condition and conveyed to the Waipukuran Hospital, whore he died yesterday afternoon. The inquest was opened this morning before Dr. Kendall, district coroner, "and after evidence of identification had been taken was adjourned till Monday next.
