ON ROAD FRdNVSXSES. At thlis morning’s meeting of the, Stratford! County Council Cr, 0 Neill said that the Inspector had inlormed him that a South. Riding resident hud stated that he would not cut bet black, berry on hjs road frontage until the Council removed its metal dumps. If settlers took that stand it was not worth while anybody cutting weeds. The Council had! to dump metal some, where and if they had_ to remove dumps whenever weeds grew through, them an impossible position woo'd he created. He thought there should be
a prosecution. Cr Murray: It is a veiy lame ex-
cuse. The chairman (Cr T, 11. Anderson) said that under the lorry system the dumps were larger Ibiuvu they) jhad been in the past.
Cr. O’Neill said other settlers were cutting their weeds, and the man he spoke "of should he prosecuted, Cr. O’Neill moved and Cr. Taylor seconded, that after legal notice had been given, a prosecution, should h° instituted. 1 Cr. O’Neill; If somefamg is not done about the weeds the country will be o ver-run. It is not fair to other settlers.

In his report the Inspector said that the cutting of weet!h on: frontages was being somewhat neglected. as all settlors were busy - with hav-making. Pagwort was finished, but there had heenV prolific growl.h of blackberry.
