DISPUTE At INVERCARGILL.
INVERCARGILL, Last Night
A deadlock appears to have been reached in the fishing industry so far as it relate,^ to Stewart Island fishermen and Bluff merchants, the crux of the matter is that the merchants have decided to refuse all fish under a pound in weight. The fishermen mot the merchants in d conference this afternoon, askin"- that the minimum sized fish ol nine inches laid down by the Gov eminent regulations be adhered to. After considerable discussion the meeting terminated with an assurance from the merchants that when things improved the fishermen would get the benefit of it.
