TENNIS TOURNAMENT.

On Wednesday afternoon a most successful Yankee tournament was held cn the local courts. There were about 40 present who thoroughly enjoyed themeelvesi. Thqj' winner of the ladies’ games was Mrs Myers, and the winner of the gents’ was Mr D. Cameron. The prizes were kindly donated by Miss Were. It is proposed to hold another tournament at a later date, probably at Easter. Ladder games have now commenced. Among those present on the courts were: Mesdames Horn Cameron, Greeuwell, Myers, McKee; Misses Wilcox, Were, Horn, Mander, Gadsby, Belcher, Clemow, Blair, Burke, U. and B. Mjills, Shannon; Messrs L. and M. Wickham, McLean, Cameron, C. Marchanft, .Greeuwell, Redshaw and T. Carley. Mr T. Carley was the official umpire.
