A very enjoyable afternoon was (spent on the local Ten ns Courts on February 10th, when a visiting Tangarakau team met the Whanga tennis team in a. friendly match. Although the local players were outclassed by the visitors some very interesting games were witnessed. The detailed results were as follows: — MIXED DOUBLES. F. Anderson and Miss E. Cleland defeated W. Houlihan dr — 5. R. Cleland defeated Schweiters G —2. LADIES SINGLES.

Mr W. Waters met with a very painful accident through his motor cycle skidding and falling with him. Mr Waters; suffered severe bruises ami gravel cuts, but is now progressing favourably. Farmers are making full use of the fine weather by getting most of their dipping finished, although in some cases water is not too plentiful. The numerous friends of Mrs Mueller, who has been undergoing medical' treatment at Otaki for the past four months, will be pleased to bear she is well on the road to recovery. Miss V- Anderson has returned from’ a. holiday in Now Plymouth Mr and Mrs Gilmonr and famdV have taken up their residence m the dlctr’ct. ; , •, Mr W C Fletcher has returned from a week’s holiday in New Plymouth.
