SALVATION ARMY CRISIS
HIGH COUNCIL MEETS. MRS BOOTH’S APPEAL. LONDON, Feb, 13. The High Council is sitting again at Smibury to-day, instead of au Loudon, as previously announced. Lt is understood that butli sides will be represented by counsel. Witnesses will bo heard on behalf of the general, three of whom are medical men. Others are Mr G, A. Pollard, chancellor of the exoheouer of the Salvation Army 25 years ago, who has been actively associated with the general’s defence, Mr Maurice Whitlow, who interviewed the general in his be.droora a week ago. Questions are being asked eoncorning the cost of assembling the HTJft Council from all over the world. It is certain the initiators never anticipated such a. prolonged meeting, A number of delegates have booked their passages provisionally by the Leviathan, which is sailing on Friday. Each member yesterday received a, letter from Mrs Bramwell Booth asking, out of regard for members of the past and the needs of the present. not to adjudicate the general unfit.
