GROUND ENGINEER APPOINTED.

The Marlborough Aero Club has appointed Mr J. H. Preston, of Miramar, Wellington, as ground engineer from nine applicants. Mr Preston, Who will be granted the Governments full ground engineer’s license for light planes had six and a-balf years’ experience as an engineer in the British R.A.E. During that Pipe he was engaged on the engines 'of the famous airships R 33 and R3O. He was also on multi-en-gined flying boats and general aircraft Captain N. B. Chandler, the Club’s pilot instructor, has formally commenced his duties. The Club anticipates that it .will commence flying operations next week. Trainees are being enrolled from as far north as Martinborough.
