CHANNEL STEAMER STRANDED
PASSENGERS SUFFER FROM COLD. LONDON, February 12. gje, from Ostend, stranded on the gre ,from Ostend, stranded on the rocks near Dover harbour.
The passengers, including twelve women, suffered severely from the biting wind- Fora two hours they were huddled on the ice-bound deck fill the crew were able to lower the boats in the heavy seas. A later message states the Vi He do Leig® sank. She carried 40 passengers and 60 of a crew. All were saved- The women were put into' the first boat and landed drenched and half-frozen.
