BETTER DAIRY SEASON

INCREASE BEING MAINTAINED. MILLION LB. MORE BUTTERFAT. POSITION IN NORTH AND CENTRAL TARANAKX With an increase qF over one million pounds of butter-fat, daily production in, North and Central Taranaki during the. current season shows an increase of approximately G.l per cent, when compared with the corresponding period -of last season, when, it must he remembered, drought conditions wo.re causing farmers extreme anxiety. While there has been a falling: off in the manufacture of butter, the output of cheese, as shown, by the Taranaki Producers'' Freezing Works Company's Company's returns, lias increased by almost 20,000 crates and the. total but-ter-fat production by 1,093,3351b5, representing at average prices a. greater return to date this season of something like £70,000. Details of the produce handled at the Moturoa grading stores of the Producers' Freezing Works Company to date are a,s follows: —
