STRATFORD ACCEPTANCES. Acceptances for the first day of the Stratford Racing Club's meeting will close with the secretary, Mr. W. Power, at 9 o'clock this evening. ELLERSLIE THAIMXG NOTES. AUCKLAND, December 20. Visiting horses arrived by a special train at noon, which carried nearly 60 racers and trotters. The Ellerslie tracks were dead after overnight rain. On the two-year-old track, Geld Tinge beat Desert Song in the only gallop over four furlongs in 51sec. On No. 2 grass, the first to Work were Gold Money, King Emerald and Eager Rose, who got to the end of four furlongs in 52sec; Gold Money finished best. Dominit ran nome £rom tue six fur * longs post in Imin 22sec, and did it! nicely. Royal Flower and Critique were on terms at the end of six furlongs, in imin 21 2-ssec. Corinax ran right away from Thursby while running a round in 1 min 47 3-ssec, the last six furlongs taking Imin 19 4-ssec. Perception was sent over a circuit, but wa s not going fast at any time, taking 58 2-ssec. to run (the last four furlongs. Hoylake jumped off at 1 the six furlongs post and, after running the first three in 39 2-ssec, completed the task in Imin 21sec.' He was never extended. Sir Russell did strong work over a round, in Imin 54 l-ssec. The two stable companions, Talisker and Vertigern, strode over a .circuit in Imin 57sec. Archeno ran the lasit six furlongs of her work in Imin 28sec. Sir Mond, Jolly M»ney and .Zane Grey were bunched at the end of six furlongs, in Imin 2sec. Sleepy Sol and Golden Wedding •were not extended over a similar journey, done in Imin 25 l-ssec. «3 Boy was going better Money at the conclusion of gs, in imin 19 4-ssec. ark and Modest Boy got furlongs easily in lniin 24 l-ssec. Lady's Boy was too good for Night Town over a similar journey. Taneriri ran the same distance in Imin 19 3-s Sec. After breakfast, Aussie, who was plated and carried a light boy, jumped Off at the five furlongs post and, after running the first two furlongs in. 25sec, completed the full distance in imin 2sec, a good gallop. Bannock and Yaqui finished together over six furlongs, in Imin 21 sec. j Papatu was sent a round, which he traversed in Imin 49 ,l-ssec, the last six in Imin 22 l-ssec. Blago easily accounted for Karamu while'running a circuit in Imin 52 2-ssec. Awarere put plenty 'of dash into a five furlong gallop, which Avas covered in imin 4 3-ssec. Bizarre was slightly in front of Abbott's Delight and Mangalti, in imin 51 4-ssec. ' Clockwork ran the last six furlongs of his work in Imin 28 l-ssec. Good Boy was better than Mon Star at the end Of five furlongs, ■ which took Imin 7 2-ssec. Silver mine and Bright Glow arrived and were exercised on-(the sand. The former was particularly pleasing.

TRAINING AT AWAPUNI. PALMERSTON N., Dec. 20. Excellent conditions prevailed for track operations at Awapuni this morning. A number of horses were galloped, although the activities are still restricted to the local contingent, none of the visitors having yet arrived. Th e major portion of the work was carried out on No. 3 grass, which was in great order. Archeria, alter conceding Disrank a start over the early portion, heat his companion home, running three furlongs on the grass in 38sec. •\Vyeford and Cold Air finished on (terms at the end of half a mile, in 53sec.

Home Made and Atareria drew clear of Red Bank in the run home at the fmd' of a mile task on the plough, the last seven furlongs taking lmln 38sec. Kilorell was going equally as well as Lin Arlington at 1 the close of a five furl'ong sprint on the grass, in lmin GsecMiss Field and Lucky Bag finished 0 n term s at the end of five furlongs, in lmin 6sec, the latter having an advantage in the weights. Kales finished stronger than Elicit over half a mile, in 52 3-ssec. jHolus Bolus had ithe measure of Inflame over half a mile on the grass, in lmin 4sec. Keddar had his head in front of Novar at the end of a mile, the last seven furlongs of which took lmin 33sec. There was little between Kilmiss and Imperial Spark at the close of

a mile on the grass, the last seven furlongs being dene in lmin 32sec. Mister Gamp was given his first gallop since his return to the active ranks, running five furlongs on the plough, in lmin 10 2-ssec. Locarno beat Peneus over half a mile on the plough in 53 l-ssec. Dobbin experienced little difficulty in beating Patearoa over'half a mile en the grass in 53sec. Clarinda and Hymestrason did long steady pace work. Moiuoa Fame, Callanmore, Statuary, Vexatious, Killogie, Skyrider and others got through, useful tasks.
