STRATFORD ACCEPTANCES. Acceptances for the first day of the Stratford Racing Club's meeting will close with the secretary, Mr. W. Power, at 9 o'clock this evening. ELLERSLIE THAIMXG NOTES. AUCKLAND, December 20. Visiting horses arrived by a special train at noon, which carried nearly 60 racers and trotters. The Ellerslie tracks were dead after overnight rain. On the two-year-old track, Geld Tinge beat Desert Song in the only gallop over four furlongs in 51sec. On No. 2 grass, the first to Work were Gold Money, King Emerald and Eager Rose, who got to the end of four furlongs in 52sec; Gold Money finished best. Perception was sent over a circuit, but wa s not going fast at any time, taking 58 2-ssec. to run (the last four furlongs. Bannock and Yaqui finished together over six furlongs, in Imin 21 sec. j Papatu was sent a round, which he traversed in Imin 49 ,l-ssec, the last six in Imin 22 l-ssec. Blago easily accounted for Karamu while'running a circuit in Imin 52 2-ssec. Awarere put plenty 'of dash into a five furlong gallop, which Avas covered in imin 4 3-ssec. Bizarre was slightly in front of Abbott's Delight and Mangalti, in imin 51 4-ssec. ' Clockwork ran the last six furlongs of his work in Imin 28 l-ssec. Good Boy was better than Mon Star at the end Of five furlongs, ■ which took Imin 7 2-ssec. Silver mine and Bright Glow arrived and were exercised on-(the sand. The former was particularly pleasing.

TRAINING AT AWAPUNI. PALMERSTON N., Dec. 20. Excellent conditions prevailed for track operations at Awapuni this morning. A number of horses were galloped, although the activities are still restricted to the local contingent, none of the visitors having yet arrived. Th e major portion of the work was carried out on No. 3 grass, which was in great order. Archeria, alter conceding Disrank a start over the early portion, heat his companion home, running three furlongs on the grass in 38sec. •\Vyeford and Cold Air finished on (terms at the end of half a mile, in 53sec.

Dobbin experienced little difficulty in beating Patearoa over'half a mile en the grass in 53sec. Clarinda and Hymestrason did long steady pace work. Moiuoa Fame, Callanmore, Statuary, Vexatious, Killogie, Skyrider and others got through, useful tasks.
