SERVICE CAR STRUCK. PAHIATUA, Dec. 7. William J. Feasy and Jo'hn Watson, .Pahiatua County employees, met with : a serious accident last evening, a short distance from town, towards Mangatainoka. Their motor cycle, with Watson on the pillion seat, collided with an Aard service car proceeding t 0 Palmerston North when passing the County grader. Watson suffered a fractured thigh and cuts on the hand and leg. Feasy had severe injuries to the knee and nose and other abrasions.

Watson is married with a young family. He served on minesweepers in the navy and also in th e forces of Italy, and was awarded a special medal by the American Government fcr gallantry in rescuing American sailors stranded on a raft in the Atlantic. Three times during the war he was on vessels which were blown up.
